Using Group Chat Features

Laytly offers powerful group chat features to help you stay connected with multiple people at once. Here's how to use them:

Creating a Group Chat

To create a new group chat:

1. Open the Laytly app

2. Go to the Chats tab

3. Tap the "+" icon in the top right corner

4. Select "New Group"

5. Choose the contacts you want to add (you can add up to 100 people)

6. Tap "Next"

7. Add a group name and optional group photo

8. Tap "Create Group"

Managing Group Members

As a group admin, you can manage the members:

Adding Members:

1. Open the group chat

2. Tap the group name at the top

3. Select "Add Participants"

4. Choose contacts to add

5. Tap "Add"

Removing Members:

1. Open the group chat

2. Tap the group name at the top

3. Tap "Participants"

4. Swipe left on a member's name

5. Tap "Remove"

Group Admin Controls

Group admins have special privileges:

1. Open the group chat

2. Tap the group name at the top

3. Select "Group Settings"

From here, you can:

Special Group Features

Laytly groups have several special features:

Pinned Messages:

1. Long-press on an important message

2. Select "Pin Message"

3. The message will appear at the top of the chat for all members

Group Polls:

1. Tap the "+" icon in the message field

2. Select "Poll"

3. Enter your question and options

4. Tap "Send Poll"

Shared Media:

1. Tap the group name at the top

2. Select "Media"

3. View all photos and videos shared in the group

Group Events:

1. Tap the "+" icon in the message field

2. Select "Event"

3. Enter event details and tap "Create"

4. Members can RSVP directly in the chat

Leaving a Group

If you want to leave a group:

1. Open the group chat

2. Tap the group name at the top

3. Scroll down and tap "Leave Group"

4. Confirm your decision

Note: If you're the only admin, you'll need to assign another admin before leaving.

Muting Group Notifications

To mute notifications from a busy group:

1. Open the group chat

2. Tap the group name at the top

3. Select "Notifications"

4. Choose your preferred muting option (1 hour, 8 hours, 24 hours, or Always)
